Dear Editor:
Published: May 15, 2008

Throughout life, love can come at us fast and stays for ages. National Nursing Home Week, an annual observance that honors the residents and staff of our nation’s nursing home facilities, is May 12-16. This year’s theme is “Love is Ageless” and our facility will be hosting special events each day.
Our celebration would be greatly enriched by your participation. We are asking key community groups, such as yours, to join us in our festivities as our residents and community take center stage. We are requesting any donations or gifts from local businesses to make this celebration unforgettable for our residents. Our activities department solely operates on donation and fundraisers. Any gestures would be appreciated greatly.
Beyond creating an enjoyable place for residents to relax and visit with friends and families, we see this event as a very positive way to celebrate the community spirit of Scranton and Lake City and our appreciation for the residents, staff and volunteers of our facility who have given so much to our town.
We hope you can join us for this fun and meaningful activity. Please call (843) 389-9201 or stop by to let me know if your group will be participating .
Sincerely,
Wendy Lynch
Director of Activities
Lake City/Scranton Health Care Center
