Construction crews are continuing work on the new CVS Pharmacy on the corner of Ron McNair Boulevard and Thomas Street.
CVS Pharmacy Director of Public Relations Mike Deangelis said the new CVS Pharmacy in Lake City is scheduled to open in April and that he will have more details to announce about the new store in a month or more.
In October, Brown & Co. President Wilbur B. Brown, who sold the $3.5 million property expected to generate more than $50,000 in property taxes, said the site of the new CVS Pharmacy was the home of Sonic Drive In Restaurant before 1993.
Also in October, Deangelis said CVS looks for opportunities to open larger, freestanding stores to replace older stores, which generally are located in shopping malls. He said freestanding stores offer more opportunities for customers.

I know that property and I sure don’t understand how that piece of property went for over 3 million dollars! Sounds like CVS got ripped off. Too bad. Good for Wilbur, bad for CVS.
