Good and bad news on cholesterol from the American Heart Association.
Levels of so-called “bad” cholesterol among adult Americans have fallen since 1980, but harmful tri-glyceride levels have nearly quintupled over the same
period.
Tri-glyercides are markers in the blood often caused by obesity.
Researchers say lower cholesterol levels may reflect a greater awareness of the dangers of a high-fat diet, but the obesity problem has only gotten worse.
