McLeod Foundation to host financial planning program

The McLeod Health Foundation is hosting an Estate & Financial Planning Institute on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the McLeod Medical Plaza Conference Center.

The Estate & Financial Planning Institute is being coordinated by the Professional Advisory Council to the McLeod Health Foundation. Those who would be interested in attending the Institute include attorneys, accountants, financial planners and life insurance agents.
Topics will be based on various Gifting Strategies. The program will feature nationally recognized speaker, Steven Siegel, President of The Siegel Group, a Morristown, New Jersey-based national consulting firm specializing in tax consulting, estate planning and advising family business owners and entrepreneurs. Mr. Siegel holds a BS from Georgetown University, a JD from Harvard Law School and an LLM in Taxation from New York University.

Program Credit Acceptances include:
Legal:
The program has been approved for 5 hours of MCLE with 5 hours being approved EPP & Tax Specialty by the SC Supreme Court.

Life Insurance:
This course is approved by the South Carolina Department of Insurance for Continuing Insurance Education Credit for 5 hours for Life, Accident & Health.

Accounting:
Guidelines will be followed in order to offer 5 hours of CPE credit from the Board of Accountancy.

Certified Financial Planners:
This program has been accepted by the CFP Board for 5 hours.
