Mary Lance Williams and Scott Edward Garrison were married Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church in Columbia. The 4 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Revs. W. Donald Britt and R. Wayne Horne. A reception followed at The McCutchen House.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Williams of Marion, is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marion B. Edwards Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lance Williams, all of Marion. She is a graduate of Coker College and earned a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. She is employed as an administrator in Lexington School District Two.
The bridegroom, son of the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Edward Lee Garrison of Columbia, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scharstein of Newport, Ky., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Sherwood P. Garrison of Bellevue, Ky. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is employed with Q2 Administrators.
Matron of honor was Allison Dawsey Williams, sister-in-law of the bride. Attendants were Emily Lorain Garrison, daughter of the groom, and Jennifer Garrison Buhr, niece of the groom. Flower girl was Peyton Rae Williams, niece of the bride.
Best man was Franklin Williams Jr., brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Preston Lee Garrison, son of the groom, and Sherwood Lee Garrison, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Devin Franklin Williams, nephew of the bride. Ushers were Larry Barker, Michael Hall, Thomas Jackson, Rick Pool, Reginald Wilson Jr. and Reginald Wilson III.
After a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Lexington.
