Ms. Patricia Richie Taylor of Cheraw and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Taylor of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kathryn Taylor, to James Oliver Wise Jr., both of Pineville, N.C. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James O. Wise of Columbia.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Albert C. Richie and the late Mrs. Jessie B. Richie of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Rev. and Mrs. James Ned Taylor of Spartanburg.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University and is a lead preschool teacher at Primrose School at Park Crossing in Charlotte, N.C.
The groom-elect attended Winthrop University and is the Charlotte merchandising account representative for Sony Computer Entertainment America.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 11, 2008, at the Armstrong-Mauldin House in Rock Hill.
