Mr. and Mrs. Kevin W. Smith of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Beth Smith, to Stephen Daniel McMahan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. McMahan of Black Mountain, N.C.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Whinna of Hillsborough, N.C., and Mrs. Eleanor G. Smith of North Port, Fla., and the late Mr. John W. Smith.
She is a graduate of Taylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian educational ministries.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. A.B. Martin of Spartanburg and the late Mrs. Evelyn C. Martin, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. McMahan.
He is a graduate of North Greenville University with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast media.
The wedding will be Oct. 4, 2008, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Florence.
