Shekinah Renita Smiling of Quinby and Antonio Roderick Larkin of Charleston were married at 3 p.m. July 26, 2008, at Florence Civic Center.
Pastors Anthony Howard and Gloria Bracey and elder Jesse James performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her mother, Brenda Howard, is the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Anthony (Brenda) Howard of Quinby and Mr. and Mrs. Gedine Smiling Jr. of Manning. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Maggie Braswell and the late Arthur Braswell of Florence, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gedine Smiling Sr. of Manning.
She is a 1998 graduate of Wilson High School, 2002 graduate of Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Arts in biology and minor in chemistry and a 2004 graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College with a degree in health science nursing. She is a nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larkin Sr. of Charleston. He is the grandson of the late Rev. and Mrs. Elijah (Magdalene) Odom of Charleston and the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Larking Sr. of Charleston.
He is a 1998 graduate of Middleton High School and 2003 graduate of Trident Technical College with certification in HVAC. He is a CNC operator with BOSCH.
Maid of honor was Joye Smiling, sister of the bride, and Dione Govan.
Matron of honor was Farrah Wilson.
Best men were James Larkin, twin brother of the groom, and Charles Larkin, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Yolanda Douglas; Kimberly Flemming; Antoinette Hines, stepsister of the bride; Charmeon Hines; Tia Larkin, sister-in-law of the groom; Moneka Larry; Natasha Poston; Valerie Radcliff, sister of the groom; Zenobia Robinson; Vanessa Virden, sister of the groom; and Paige Howard, sister-in-law of the bride.
Groomsmen were George Austin; Joshua Braswell; Edward Brockington; Rodney Hicks; Jeremy Howard, stepbrother of the bride; Travis Jordan; Arthur Meeks; Seth Mosley; Samuel Lee Toney Jr.; Won Virden, brother-in-law of the groom; Tyrone Washington; and Ollie Williams.
Flower girls were Little Miss A’marie Larkin, daughter of the groom, Little Miss Micarah Wilson and Little Miss Brianna Jenkins.
Ring bearer was Master Christian Douglas.
Bible carrier was Master Tyler Flemming.
Carpet rollers were Master Malik Smiling, nephew of the bride, and Master Marcus Smiling Jr.
Miniature bride and groom were Little Miss Makayla Smiling-James, niece of the bride, and Master Davónte Caraballo, nephew of the groom.
Ushers were James McKay, Samuel Lee Barr, Bayrone Billups and Terrance Jenkins.
Vocalists were Mr. George McElveen and Ms. Alyssa Cain.
A reception followed at Florence Center in Florence.
After a wedding trip to Walt Disney Word in Orlando, Fla., the couple will live in North Charleston.
