Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Rivers of Greenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Teale Rivers, to Derek Denzer, both of Easley.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Guy Lawson and Mrs. Lillian Lawson of Inman, and the late Mr. Gilbert Rivers Sr. and Mrs. Jeannette Rivers of Fountain Inn.
She is a graduate Eastside High School and the University of South Carolina, where she earned a double major in human resource management and marketing and a minor in German. She is an inside sales representative for UPS in Greenville.
The groom-elect is the son of Debra and John Gibart of Hartsville and Paul and Robyn Denzer of Canton, Mich. He is the grandson of Oran Kaminski and the late Mrs. Jacqueline Kaminski of Manitowoc, Wis., and Mrs. Antionette Denzer and the late William Denzer of Ellsworth, Wis.
He is a graduate of Hartsville High School and will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Clemson University. He will continue at Clemson to pursue a Master of Science in structural engineering. He is an engineering intern at Land Planning Associates Inc. in Easley.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Furman University in Greenville.
