Jennifer Marie Perkins and Jason Craig Powers, both of Florence, were married at 7 p.m. July 19, 2008, at Central United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Thomas C. Pietila performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her grandfather, Mr. Alfred Brumbles Jr., is the daughter of Mrs. Donna Perkins and Mr. James Newman of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brumbles Jr. of Mullins and the step-granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Newman of Sarasota, Fla.
She is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in visual arts and is a graphic designer with S/W Printing in Florence.
The bride wore a white satin fitted mermaid style gown with lace overlay accented with silver embroidery. A coordinating white beaded veil with silver embroidery. The bouquet was adorned with miniature pink calla lilies and roses with an assortment of accent flowers in shades of pink and green and stems of crystals.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Powers of Florence. He is the grandson of Mrs. Vera Kessler and the late Mr. Richard E. Kessler of Savannah, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Powers and the late Anna Powers of Hilton Head Island.
He is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in political science and is a manager with S/W Printing in Florence.
Maid of honor was Ms. April Butler.
Best man was Mr. Stephen Powers, father of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Kayle Brumbles, cousin of the bride; Gabrielle Gaskins; Courtney Harper, cousin of the bride; Ansley Kessler and Tiffany Kessler, cousins of the groom; and Courtney Martin.
Groomsmen were Jonathan Goode; William Hall Jr.; Derick Hemmingsen; Larry Johnson II; and David Perkins III and Matthew Perkins, brothers of the bride.
Flower girl was Brittany Brumbles, cousin of the bride.
Ring bearers were Jakob Johnson and Kaleb Johnson.
Crucifer was Thomas Bateman Jr.; banner bearer was Drayton Lassen; acolyte was Fletcher Bateman; scripture reader was Benjamin Harper, cousin of the bride; organist was Beverly Hazelwood; flutist was Kristen Slaughenhoupt; and vocalists were Chrissy Moss Welch and Lee Whittington.
A reception followed at the Florence Country Club in Florence.
After a wedding trip to Runaway Bay, Jamaica, the couple will live in Florence.
