Amber Kathleen Hemmingsen of Florence and Preston Joseph Atkinson of Myrtle Beach were married at 6 p.m. Aug. 9, 2008, at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Dane Morehead performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave (Rilla) Hemmingsen of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Kathleen Dickerson and Mr. JW Dickerson of Florence and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Martin of Shelby, N.C.
The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown and veil made of ivory satin with lace overlay. The bouquet was adorned with white daisies and miniature sunflowers.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Atkinson Sr. of Myrtle Beach.
Maid of honor was Ms. Caroline Ellis.
Best man was Mr. Mike Atkinson, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Devin Cribb, Ms. Emily Goodwin and Ms. Kaitlin Ziessler.
Groomsmen were Mr. Prentiss Lewis; Mr. Wesley Atkinson, brother of the groom; and Mr. Phil Warner, Mr. Derek Hemmingsen and Mr. Daniel Hemmingsen, brothers of the bride.
Flower girl was Miss Reagan Dickerson, cousin of the bride.
Ring bearer was Master Jayden Dickerson, cousin of the bride.
Wedding music was provided by soloist Mrs. Shelia Yates, aunt of the bride, and organist Karen Hertzog.
A reception followed at Creek Ratz in Florence.
After a wedding trip, the couple will live in Florence.
