Marcellina Antionette Fugate of Florence and Elton LaTroy Guinyard of Orangeburg were married at 1 p.m. May 31, 2008, at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Julius H. McAllister Sr. performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by Aubrey R. Fugate, is the daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Fugate and the late Arthur R. Fugate Sr. of Andrews. She is the granddaughter of the late Roxy and Willie Davis of Andrews and the late Thelma and John Fugate of Tazewell, Tenn.
She is a graduate of South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and Lesley University with a Master of Education. She is employed by Williamsburg County School District.
The bride wore a strapless A-line gown with a sequin and floral design and a matching veil. Her bouquet consisted of a red and white floral arrangement with a variety of roses and lilies.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Queen) Guinyard of Orangeburg. He is the grandson of the late Calether and Johnnie Franklin of Orangeburg and the late Elouise and Jesse Guinyard of Orangeburg.
He is a graduate of South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and is employed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Maid of honor was Ms. Faith Hardison.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Willine Gilliard.
Best man was Mr. Alex Gibson.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Wanda Elliott, cousin of the groom, and Mrs. Paulnetta Young.
Groomsmen were Mr. Anthony Robinson, Mr. Jamaal Robinson and Dr. Kevin Ray.
Flower girl was Mikaili Gilliard.
The wedding directress was Synora Manning.
A reception followed at the Pee Dee Shriner’s Reception Hall in Florence.
After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, the couple will live in Orangeburg.
