Roger Kahn’s “The Boys of Summer,” is still considered the quintessential novel on how life is a reflection of baseball and vice-versa. Among the many loveable characters depicted in the book, which recounts the Brooklyn Dodger teams of the 1940s and 50s, is a young man by the name of Louis Norman “Bobo” Newsom.

You may recognize the name since most of us travel on the highway named after him on an almost daily basis.
