LILLIE E. MURRELL MORRIS

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Ms. Lillie E. Murrell Morris, 65, of Florence, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her home.

Ms. Lillie was born December 13, 1948 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Murrell, Sr.  She was educated in the Florence County Public Schools.  Although she graduated from McClenaghan Adult School, she celebrated reunions with Wilson High School Class 1967. 

Ms. Lillie was a faithful and devoted member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church.  She was a member of the Golden Age Ministry, Soup Kitchen Ministry and attended the Noon Day Bible Study.  She was employed for many years with Electric Motors Company until their closure.  She went on to work part-time with Florence Morning News as an inserter then advancing to a vending machine deliverer.  After years with Florence Morning News, she accepted a position as cashier for Moss BP, where she worked for numerous years until God requested her to be the caregiver

Ms. Lillie leaves loving fond memories to her daughters, family and friends.  Preceding her in death was her only son, Johnnie Cleveland “Cleve” Morris, III. Fond memories of her are with her daughters, Shelly Rogers Brayboy of Alexandria, Va. and Shamyah A. Morris of Florence, SC.  Her grandchildren Tyquan Brown, Terrion Brown, Shaquesha McFadden, Sir Caleeb Frederick, Makayla Woods, Sheldon Blake, Jabree D. Morris, Shamar A. Morris, Jurnie I. Brayboy, Syrennity A. Morris, C.J. Morris and Johnnie C. Morris IV, two great-granddaughters Kayleigh and Kai’Leigh Brown.  Six Sisters:  Azalee Carter (Richard) of Landover, MD, Nancy Murrell of Washington, DC,  Edna Griffin of Florence SC, Emma Murrell of Washington, DC, Annie Jordan of Florence, SC, Janice Munnerlyn (Habword) of Denver, CO and brothers, the late Levi Murrell (Mary), Sr. of Florence, SC and Thorne A. Murrell (Hazel) of Woodbridge, Va. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
