FLORENCE, S.C. – The holidays are a time when many people gather with family to celebrate the good fortunes of the year coming swiftly to a close. During this season some will also gather with strangers to give thanks for what they have and give to those who are less fortunate.

Community volunteerism always sees a jump during November and December, and no one would begrudge the help volunteers offer during the holiday season. However, volunteers are much harder to find the other 10 months of the year.
