U.S. Attorney Reginald I. Lloyd said three felons have been charged in separate federal indictments for possessing firearms: Roosevelt Williams Jr., 46, of Lamar; Keith Maurice Brockington, 37, of Florence; and Derrick Leon Samuels, 50, of Hartsville.

Darlington County deputies arrested Williams in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Cambridge Apartments near Lamar. Sheriff’s office reports show Williams shot at the victim during the robbery attempt, but missed, and deputies seized a .22-caliber pistol from the suspect. Each of the three men faces life in prison if convicted.
