Driver cited in Florence truck crash that closed I-95

  • Interstate 95 Truck Fire

    A truck fire at the Interstate 95/Interstate 20 interchange on I-95 north-bound backed up traffic north-bound on both interstates Wednesday morning. Florence and West Florence fire departments responded along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Florence County EMS, Florence Police and South Carolina Department of Transportation. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

FLORENCE, S.C. -- A truck wreck that involved a fire and diesel spill shut down north-bound traffic on Interstate 95 for about 20 minutes Wednesday morning.

West Florence and Florence firefighters responded at 8:52 a.m. to the truck-crash to find the grass on fire where the truck had run off the road and into a ditch, according to a release issued by West Florence Fire Rescue.
