Bell named new Darlington County magistrate

Glenn Mondrae “Monty” Bell took office as a new magistrate for Darlington County on June 23. He was recommended for the post by state Sen. Gerald Malloy, D-Hartsville and appointed by Gov. Mark Sanford.

Bell, a graduate of Darlington Mayo High School for Mathematics, Science and Technology, graduated magna cum laude from Morehouse College in Atlanta with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 2003 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007. He worked with the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office focusing on criminal domestic violence cases.
