- Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are badly needed to help pickup toys from donation boxes, help sort toys, call recipients and pack orders for applicants.
Toys for Tots Pee Dee area Coordinator Jim Williams said at least ten volunteers are needed to work in the warehouse, six days a week until Dec. 20, in addition to ten volunteers to check donation boxes once a week. Already Toys for Tots in the Pee Dee has filled orders for 700 children.
To date they have 194 requests from families for toys adding up to more than 2,000 children. Donations of empty plastic coffee cans are needed for money donations in the area. The Pee Dee area Toys for Tots covers Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Marion and Williamsburg counties.
To volunteer call Coordinator Jim Williams at 843-758-5164 or stop by the warehouse, 1625 S. Irby St., in Florence, in the Freedom Plaza. Log on to toysfortots.org, to fill out a request for toys for needy children. No applications will be accepted on site.
