Darlington County's unemployment slips to 12.1 percent in September

Both Darlington County and Chesterfield County saw their unemployment rates drop in September.

Darlington County’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate declined by 1.2 percentage points to 12.1 percent from a revised 13.3 percent in August, according to figures released Friday by the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce. Chesterfield County’s rate went from 15.9 percent in August to 14.8 percent in September, according to the agency’s figures.
