The blowing of the shofar, as in ancient Israel, called our communities to prayer at an observance in Andrews Thursday evening. The instrument, made from an animal’s horn, can be heard for a long distance. The solemn occasion, now in its third year in Andrews, drew about a hundred people to pray for our nation, our communities, our leaders, and our schools.

Campus Health Center director Gaye Douglas receives the award from Cindy Moore of the SC Rural Health Association.
S.C. Rural Health Association’s Outstanding Community Health Project, Program or Initiative is presented to a rural clinic, rural practice, or other program either for an educational, direct service or supportive initiative that has positively impacted a community’s health services.

Stevie Phillips
Stevie Phillips, Johnsonville Middle School principal, is going into a new position come July 1. It is an unusual situation to be sure, since he will be taking his present eighth grade students with him. Phillips has been named principal of Johnsonville High School.
 
Randy Willis
Randy Willis will become JMS Principal on July 1.
