HARTSVILLE - The Fatherhood and Families Engagement Program has devised a new way to raise money for the non-profit organization. Under the direction of Deborah Dickerson, it has opened a restaurant on Washington Street called GUMBO Café. GUMBO stands for Global United Missions to Benefit Ourselves and Others.

On Feb. 23, Dickinson opened the doors to the café and welcomed visitors to sample her Creole dishes prepared from recipes she brought from New Orleans.
